Yesterday afternoon several classes gathered in the Information Centre and in the Whare to watch the Queen's and King's Kapa Haka group, He Waka Kōtuia, perform at the Ngā Kapa Haka Kura Tuarua o Aotearoa 2016 in Napier. There was definitely some tension in the air as we waited for their performance to begin, but it was probably nothing compared to what He Waka Kōtuia were feeling! The group began with a waiata and you could have heard a pin drop in the Information Centre - it was almost as if we were all holding our breath. The girls were spectacular with the poi and the haka gave us goose bumps. If you missed seeing this live, it is available on demand here. Well done to everyone involved - you guys are amazing and we are all incredibly proud of you!
